One of the simplest ways to minimize environmental impact is to hand-wash.
1.
Use lukewarm water and a small amount of gentle,
dye-free detergent.
2.
Submerge your cashmere and gently swirl for one minute,
then soak for five minutes.
3.
Gently press your cashmere to let out excess water.
Never twist or stretch.
4.
To dry, lay your cashmere on a thick, dry towel.
Gently roll the towel and press.
5.
Unroll and lay flat in natural shape to air dry.
Avoid hanging to prevent stretching and
never put your cashmere in the dryer.
Keep your cashmere in airtight bags to prevent stretching
and pilling, and to avoid damage from moths.
Pilling is a natural part of the cashmere wear. Pills form from rubbing,
abrasion, and even just normal use. We recommend a cashmere comb
to maintain your pieces. Try our Travel Deluxe Gleener comb.
A dry-cleaning service always works too.
